A fun day celebrating BIG accomplishments! Our 4th and 5th grade students who earned Advanced scores on last year’s LEAP assessment enjoyed a special reward trip! Students got to catch a movie and enjoy lunch at Texas Roadhouse. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and academic achievements! Greetings Gator Family, Nacho Fridays will begin tomorrow at recess for jr high and high school students. Cheese nachos are $3, and chili cheese nachos and frito pies are $4. All proceeds go to jr high and high school LEAP, EOC, gpa, and perfect attendance rewards.

DCS FFA members traveled to Briarwood Nature Preserve and competed in the 2026 Louisiana FFA State Land Judging Career Development. Our blue team placed 7th out of 48 teams from across the state! This is the highest that one of our Land Judging has ever placed at the state competition! Great job gators!💙💛

Ms. Sebren's Agriscience 2 classes finished their Intro to Agribusiness Unit with their very own Shark Tank Presentation!🦈 Students developed their own business ideas and created presentations that covered their business goals, marketing strategies, start-up costs, profit, and so much more! They pitched their businesses to the Sharks and made their case as to why their idea deserved an investment! These students have done a fabulous job with these projects and throughout the unit as a whole!

Ms. Sebren's Agriscience 2, 3, and 4 students traveled to St. Joseph, LA to attend the 2026 Youth & Collegiate Soil Health Field Day. Students were able to participate in hands-on demonstrations about Drone Technology, Soil Sampling Methods, Weed Management, Crop Insects and Diseases, Irrigation Management, and Cover Crops. These different topics were discussed in their Soil Science Unit at the beginning of the school year, and this field day allowed them to better understand each of them! Thank you LSU AgCenter for having us!
