A Few Things (Spring Break Edition)
The Gator Store will be open the Monday and Tuesday that we return from Break (April 8th and 9th)
The 2023-24 Winter Sports Banquet will be held on Wednesday April 10th in Amber Hall at 6pm. We will recognize Varsity Basketball, Varsity Powerlifting, and JV Soccer.
Please check your student's Attendance (located on Report Cards) to be sure that they don't need to attend Seat Recovery. Letters will go home with students tomorrow for those that are near, at, or beyond 10 unexcused absences for the year.
Tomorrow, Students may wear Jeans (if they paid for Jean Fridays) and spirit shirts or Easter Themed shirts.
Oh...I bet you thought the Bed Swings and Picnic Tables were all you would see from the Great and Wonderful DCS FFA.

Congratulations to our 3rd 9weeks AR Winners!
The DCS powerlifting teams traveled to Lafayette, La. for the State Championship meet on March 20th and 21st. Coach McKinney and Coach Wallace would like to congratulate Kaden Sauseda for winning the 114 lb. State Powerlifting Championship for 1A with an 820 lb total. Kaden also broke his very own squat divisional state record. He now holds the new divisional squat record with a 335 lb squat. Everyone did a great job and we are proud of all of you. Looking forward to what's to come next year.
The Swamp was represented well on Friday by Tayven Carter, Marcus Carter, Keidron Thomas, and Dede Young at the Many Raising Cane’s Track Meet. This team of four placed 5th overall. Tayven Carter received gold in both long jump and triple jump as well as receiving the MVP award in field events. Marcus Carter took gold in javelin. Keidron Thomas broke both school records in the 100 M Dash with a time of 10.61 and the 200 M Dash with a time of 22.53. The group took third in the 4x100 event.

Here are the 5 students who raised the most money for Jump Rope for Heart. DCS elementary students raised a total of $4,230 for the American Heart Association.
Our Fall Sports Banquet will be held in Amber Hall tonight at 6pm. We will recognize Varsity Football, Cheer, Cross Country, Bayou Belles, and the DCS Drumline. Each student being recognized is allowed 2 guests. Dinner will be served. Sign in sheet for guests will be available at the door.

FRIENDLY REMINDER
DCS Dress Code policy is part of the standard set for our school.
Students must adhere to the Dress Code as it is written in the Handbook and Policy Manual.
Students not in compliance with DCS Dress Code will receive consequences ranging from warnings to a possible expulsion hearing.
Please review the Student Handbook or Policy Manual and feel free to reach out to Coach Clark with any questions.
Our Fall Sports Banquet will be this Wednesday March 6 at 6pm in Amber Hall. We will honor the Varsity Football, Cheer, Bayou Belles, and Cross Country Teams. Each athlete will be allowed to bring 2 guests. Coach Clark will pass out tickets this week. Dinner will be served.
