Greetings Gator Family, More reminders about rules as we get closer to the 25-26 school year. No beverages other than water are to be brought on campus anytime during the school day unless its unopened and packed in a lunchbag for lunch. No Sonic drinks, morning coffee, etc. Belts are required as part of the school uniform for students in the 3rd grade and up. Last year we tried using "yellow rope" as an alternative, but it became more of a crutch and a distraction, and we will not be doing that going forward. To avoid consequences for being out of dress code, good advice would be to buy an extra or alternate belt to keep in your student's backpack in case they forget or misplace the 1st one. Thanks to everyone that registered on time for the Sharp Skills Basketball Camp that begins Monday morning. This message is to inform campers and parents that we will have the camp in the Big Gym instead of the Elementary Gym. Please drop off campers in the back parking lot at the Bus Ramp. Camp ends daily at 12. Please be on time to pick up Campers. Thanks.

Greetings Swamp Family! Hopefully everyone is enjoying the Summer Break... This is another Friendly Rules Reminder as the summer progresses. HAIR COLOR and PIERCINGS 1. Students are not allowed to wear nose rings at school. If you are planning to get a nose piercing over the summer, do it soon enough that it heals and the jewelry can be removed in time for the beginning of school. Boys are also not allowed to wear earrings at school, so this same advice applies. 2. Students are only allowed to wear Natural Hair Colors at school. Enjoy all the colors in the rainbow during the summer, but please plan to have it out by the first day of school. A Message to our Athletics Sponsors... We are in the process of sending out sponsorship letters as well as making our normal personal visits to solicit financial support for our Athletics Programs. Past, Present, and Future Sponsors, please don't send money to other businesses calling on our behalf. They will call and say they are going to send us shirts or cups or this or that. And they will, after they have taken a big cut for themselves. Make sure you are dealing with Coach Clark or a representative of DCS Athletics, and that your check for sponsorship is made out to and sent to Delhi Charter School. A message to Parents... Please encourage your students to do some reading during the summer. Take a trip to your local library and a check out a few books that interest your child. Summer reading can aid in having a successful school year.

Amazon has a very large selection of clear plastic backpacks, purses, lunchbags, etc. There are many sizes, shapes, and variations available. Please be mindful of the calendar. August will be here before you know it.

JC Penney has a sale on clear backpacks! Amazon has a large selection of clear backpacks and purses as well. Don't wait until its too late.

Hopefully, the entire Swamp Family is enjoying the summer break. Here are a few answers to questions that have come up about about new rules. 1. Are we completely outlawing students beinging their cell phones to school? -- No. We understand that sometimes students need their phones after school for various reasons. The DCS policy states that phones must be powered off during the school day. Phones powered on are considered to be "in use" and thats when consequences occur. There is a phone available in the office for any needed student/parent communication. 2. Are mesh backpacks allowed? -- No. Backpacks, Purses, Lunchboxes/Lunchbags, etc. must be clear plastic. 3. Are clear plastic Backpacks, Purses, Lunchboxes/Lunchbags, allowed to have a color tint? -- Yes. As long as the tint allows for clear vision inside they can be color tinted. Please remember, this is for the added safety for your children. This is new to us as well and we will approach any unforeseen issues as they arise.
