Spirit shirts and hoodies have finally been delivered. They can be picked up in Coach Duchesne’s room in D Hall tomorrow from 3:30-6 pm. Please enter through the front gate of the school. Anything not picked up tomorrow will be delivered to students the Monday we return from break. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for supporting DCS Track and Field.

Congratulations to Mrs. Ward's 1st graders for winning a pizza party for bringing the most toiletries for the junior BETA toiletries drive. Mrs. McMahan's 4th graders placed 2nd and won cupcakes! These items were collected to stock our school swap shop with items that may be needed at times by students within our school. Thank you again to everyone that generously donated! We collected over 300 items for our school swap shop!
DCS FFA members competed at the District 3 LDE Competition at ULM yesterday. Preston Ezell, Benton Welch, and Logan Spurill competed in Creed Speaking. Zachary Bailey competed in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Curtis Hall competed in Geaux Teach Ag. Curtis Hall placed first in his competition, and he will compete at the area competition next month!
Today's Jr High Basketball Home games vs East Ouachita will begin at 530. There will be 2 games only with the girls leading off followed by the boys.
Our JR BETA officers (Raylee Fallin, Jacey Whitley, Alex Davis, Kennedy Killian-Lewis, & Alaina Simms) competed in Grapevine, TX at the National BETA leadership summit. We are very proud to announce that they represented our school extremely well! They scored perfect scores in 2 of their competitions: Project Proposal and Lead Outside the Box. They also qualified to move to the next level in Collaboration Connection. They will compete in all three of these divisions in July at the National Beta Convention in Orlando, FL!
Today's Jr High Basketball Game is postponed. We do not have a date set for the reschedule yet. When that happens we will get that information out. Again, No Jr High Basketball Game today.

Items that were bought from the DCS FFA Southern Heritage Fundraiser are being delivered to the DCS Ag Department on Monday November 18th, 2024 . Items can be picked up from Ms. Sebren directly from 1 - 3pm. If your child sold any items please be sure that all of these items are picked up from the school by no later than 3 pm on Monday. Please feel free to contact the school if there are any questions. No items can be left at the school after 3 PM

Ms. Sebren’s Agriscience 2 classes created and entered their own designs about the importance of Forest Preservation and Conservation for the 2024 USDA Conservation Poster Contest. Maddie Wilkins placed 2nd in our district for grades 10-12, and she was awarded $25!
GATOR FOOTBALL PLAYOFF INFORMATION:
The Gators will travel to St. Martin's in Metairie, LA for the first round playoff match up. Game starts at 7pm. Admission is $15 school age and up.
Tickets must be purchased online in advance at Tickets to StM Events or with the attached QR code. No cash or credit cards will be accepted at the gate. The gate on Green Acres Rd. will open at 6pm.
Bathrooms are located at the concession stand.
Please refer to the attached campus map for parking.

Soon, letters will go out concerning unexcused absences. Please read and take heed to the information received. We will start our Seat Recovery Program after the Christmas Break. Students with 5 or more unexcused absences for the semester and/or 10 for the year will lose privileges as well as run the risk of being retained to repeat their current grade.

DCS robotics is competing today at the Hurricane Fall Classic in Jonesboro, AR. This is their first tournament of the season, so everyone wish them luck!

Thursday, students will be allowed to wear costumes for Halloween. There will be no Horror or Scary Costumes allowed. And all costumes must be of appropriate fit, and feature NO vulgar or inappropriate messages.
Failure to comply will result in either calls home for school uniforms or spending the day in ISS.
