🌟 Congratulations to Sophomore Benton Welch! 🌟
We are proud to announce that Benton Welch has been chosen out of 40 area applicants to represent DCS at the ULM Bayou Jamb—our very first year being selected as a school to participate!
As a Bayou Jamb representative, Benton will promote school spirit, create content, and proudly serve as the face of DCS at Bayou Jamb events. In addition to this honor, Benton is also a leader in our FFA program, serving as the DCS FFA Chapter Sentinel and the FFA Area 1 Federation Parliamentarian.
We are excited to see Benton represent both our school and community in this outstanding opportunity. 💙🐊
Ms. Sebren's Agriscience 2 classes started off this school year with a Soil Science Unit. They have been discussing the purpose of each soil horizon, and today they built their own soil profile using edible components that represented each of the different horizons!
The time for Today's Jr High Football Game vs Beekman was changed and will begin at 6pm with the B Team Game and then the A Team game.

Ms. Sebren's Carpentry 2 class started off the school year discussing the importance of utilizing good communication and teamwork skills when working on different projects in the shop. Each group was required to put these skills to the test to complete the Egg Drop Challenge, and they were happy to report that no one's eggs broke during this challenge!
Congratulations to DCS FFA member Curtis Hall for being selected as a member of the 2025 National FFA Chorus! Curtis will travel to Indianapolis, IN, and perform throughout the National FFA Convention & Expo with other vocalists from across the country! Congratulations Curtis!

Gators in the Spotlight!!
Congratulations to DCS Class of 2014's Zelene Ester! After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from LSU Health and Science Center in New Orleans, she became a critical care nurse working in various settings on the front lines to save lives during the pandemic, all while continuing her studies. And on August 16, 2025, Zelene graduated from Texas Wesleyan University as a Doctor of Anesthesia Practice. So NOW, you can call her Dr. Zelene Ester!

Marlee Frith, Rayleigh Raney, and Payton Thomas represented Delhi Charter School at the Sedente Animo Civic Club Cotillion this weekend. Sedente Animo means "with settled purpose" and there motto is "pursuits and deeds that are honorable".
In 1962, a Civic Club was organized with the purpose of bringing together the young women of our community, to benefit themselves and the community in order to keep alive interest in fine arts, to advance and assist in Civic improvement, and to cooperate with and promote interest in educatioun and community service. Several local schools were represented that night. We are so proud of the 3 young Gators that represented our school.
