Here are the 5 students who raised the most money for Jump Rope for Heart. DCS elementary students raised a total of $4,230 for the American Heart Association.
Our Fall Sports Banquet will be held in Amber Hall tonight at 6pm. We will recognize Varsity Football, Cheer, Cross Country, Bayou Belles, and the DCS Drumline. Each student being recognized is allowed 2 guests. Dinner will be served. Sign in sheet for guests will be available at the door.

FRIENDLY REMINDER
DCS Dress Code policy is part of the standard set for our school.
Students must adhere to the Dress Code as it is written in the Handbook and Policy Manual.
Students not in compliance with DCS Dress Code will receive consequences ranging from warnings to a possible expulsion hearing.
Please review the Student Handbook or Policy Manual and feel free to reach out to Coach Clark with any questions.

Gators in the Spotlight!!
Ashari Jones Continues to rake in the awards and perform well for the McNeese State University Track and Field Team.
This past week, Ashari came in third place in the Shotput at the Southland Conference Championship! Way to Go Ashari! #GatorPride 💙🧡
Delhi Charter will be closed on Friday, March 1, 2024, due to extenuating circumstances.
The school will resume on Monday, March 4th.
Also, the PTO meeting that is scheduled for this Thursday will be rescheduled.
On Friday, surrounded by family, teammates, and coaches, DCS Senior Running Back Deandra Young signed his letter of intent to attend and play football at Louisiana Christian University. DD leaves big shoes to fill as he became the All Time Leading Rusher in DCS Football History this past season. The Gator Family wishes him well as he transitions from playing on Fridays to playing on Saturdays. 💙🧡🏈

Congratulations to the DCS Varsity Boys basketball team on advancing to the 2nd round of the LHSAA 2024 Basketball Playoffs!
The #16 Gators defeated the #17 Thrive Academy Bulldogs 55-44 and will travel to Metairie on Tuesday to face #1 Crescent City Christian School. Tip Off is 6:30 Tuesday and admission is $10.

Also, while the club didn't place in songfest, we would like to give special recognition to them for getting on stage in front of more than 10000 people (announcement estimated a little over 12000) and singing. They represented our school well!
It is our pleasure to announce and introduce our new Head Football Coach, Storm Ridgway. Coach Ridgway is a Richland Parish product having been raised in Start, La and currently resides in Rayville, La. He has been the Head Baseball Coach at DCS for 4 years and has spent the last 3 seasons as the Offensive Coordinator. Coach Ridgway’s previous coaching experience includes stops at Beekman Charter, Caldwell and Neville Junior High. He and his wife, Jessica Ridgway, have 3 children… Deacon (11), Ava-Tyler (7) and Gatlin (1). They are proud members of Start Baptist Church.
“I'm just excited about sitting down with every player and coach and selling my plan for the program going forward. Having been on staff, the familiarity is there with the kids so it is just a matter of tweaking some things and continuing to move the program forward.” - Ridgway
When asked about the promotion, Coach Ridgway was very passionate in his appreciation of his former and current players for both Baseball and Football. He stated that if it were not for them and their success he would not be stepping into this new role.
He also would like to thank Board Chairman, Mike Martin, Board Member Doug Craig, Headmaster Brett Raley and Athletic Director Chad Clark. He wanted to also compliment them on the interview process and how detailed the search was.
“I believe the most humbling part of this is that Coach Raley has been with this program since its inception. And to have him tell me that I was selected to carry the torch for Gator Football means the world to me. That was truly a unique moment for me just as a person.” - Ridgway
Playoff Basketball Time!
The #16 ranked DCS Boys Basketball team will host #17 Thrive Academy on Friday at 6pm at The Indoor Swamp. Doors open at 5:15. Tickets $10 at the door.
DCS Track and Field competed at LHSAA State Indoor State Championships on Saturday February 17.
