DCS Senior Betas hosted a STEM day for the Kindergarten Gators. It was a fun day of learning. Students learned how to make slime, fished for numbers, made jellyfish, created rain in a jar, among many other fun learning activities!











GATOR BASKETBALL
Tomorrow's home game vs Tensas will be the last game of the regular season. There will be one boys game at 6pm.
We will recognize our Girls and Boys Senior Basketball Players before tip off.

DCS was represented well at the D’Arbonne Woods Invitational this past weekend. Kaden Sauseda placed 2nd with an 800 lb total. The next meet will be the boys north regional championship; which will take place in 2 weeks.



Dcs track and field athletes Marcus Carter, Tayven Carter, Deandra Young, Kiedron Thomas, and Kimrey Thomas all competed February 3 at LSU indoor stadium for a chance to qualify for the LHSAA indoor track championship February 17. Marcus Carter 4x200 meter relay, Tayven Carter 4x200 meter relay, long jump, and triple jump, DD Young 4x200, long jump, Kiedron Thomas, 4x200 and 60 meter dash, and Kimrey Thomas shot put.
Tayven Carter placed 3rd in the triple jump, breaking the DCS school record and registering the 57 best triple jump in the nation at 45 feet 6.5 inches. Huge congrats to all that competed.

Gator Basketball Senior Night
We will celebrate Senior Night at the Indoor Swamp Thursday, February 8 at 6pm prior to the Boys Final regular season game vs Tensas.
Although the girls won't have a game, we will also recognize and celebrate our Senior girls before tip off. Please come out and support.

Tomorrow is Positive Behavior Dress Down Day. Students not allowed to dress down due to referrals or excessive absences must be in full uniform.

BASKETBALL GAME TICKET UPDATE.
We have less than 50 tickets left for tonights basketball game vs Delhi High School. Tickets will be sold in the DCS front office until 2pm.
You must have a ticket to enter.
TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. Security will be in place inside and outside. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

DCS will host Delhi for a district basketball game on Tuesday January 30th. There will be 2 games startimg at 6pm. Doors will open at 5:15 pm. Tickets are $10 and will ONLY be sold in advance. You can purchase tickets from the office at Delhi Charter School or Delhi High School from now until 1pm on Tuesday. There will be NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR. Thanks so much for your cooperation and understanding.

The DCS Seat Recovery Program is a program to make up for unexcused absences. It is available from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Monday thru Thursday, and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
You have to email or call Coach Clark at least 1 day in advance in order to reserve a spot in seat recovery.
Students with more than 10 unexcused absences are subject to loss of extracurricular privileges and also risk repeating their current grade.

2023-24 DCS Superlatives

DCS Alumni Ashari Jones and Kolton Kelley completed at LSU on January 12th for the season opening track meet. Kolton ran the 600m and the 800m and Ashari threw the shot put. Kolton is on the Track Team at ULM and Ashari is on the Track Team at McNeese State. Very proud of our Gators!!


Tonight's Varsity Boys basketball game at Tensas will start at 6 pm.There will only be one game.

On Friday January 12th, DCS participated in a Tri-Meet at Caldwell High School. This meet had 16 male lifters. DCS had 4 of those 16 competing at this meet. DCS had 4 1A lifters and the other 12 were all 3A lifters. Senior Payton Till placed 1st with a score of 301.52, 8th grader Preston Ezell placed 2nd with a score of 272.98, and Sophomore Preston Polhamus placed 3rd with a score of 272.30. Coach McKinney and Coach Wallace are proud of all the lifters that competed at this meet. Now to get prepared for regionals.
